Obviously no GPS tracking - but I see that a couple of watch examples are given as suitable. Are watches more suitable than handlebar mounted due to the map board? Anything I should look out for?

Hi Janine. I'd agree with your assesment of the Bryton. A daily or alternate day (mine was good for 36hrs of riding) download is required to free up memory. Although Its not ideal, it's much better than other handle bar mounted options available, and well priced. I dont think the watch option would be any better (from a storage point of view or battery life), and at my age I need a bigger screen than the watches offer, but I dont have any experience, so would be interesting to see what the watch guys say? The suitable watches are Forerunner 45 or 55.
I have been using the Bryton 320 GPS computer which has no routes or tracks so is suitable. Is a traditional bar mount which I like. great battery life and can be charges while in use (big pro for racing IMHO) and a nice big screen (old eyes). Unfortunately they aren't in SA anymore so need to be imported.
Feedback Post RASA: I bought the Bryton 320 and got a friend to send from the UK. Yes, it worked, but its not Garmin quality - there were glitches with it and the app. Plenty of features and battery life was good enough - but memory is terrible - its full after a couple of rides and then overwrites the older data. I needed to make extra sure that it was synced with the Bryton Active app - not always successful first time - and then delete all content. I lost one full day of RASA like this.
