Really battled with my fingers on cold early starts. Had a set of inners and Black Diamond ski gloves but were not great, fingers froze and were a bit bulky. Numb finger tips for at least two months after RASA. Have heard suggestions that mittens/3 finger gloves are the way to go ? What gloves do others use and recommend ?

Hi, I am trying USB rechargeable Powered Heated Ski gloves out. I will let the forum know how it works. Let me know if someone have tried powered gloves or socks?
The numb finger tips were unlikely from the cold. Handlebar palsy is caused by prolonged pressure on the ulnar sensory nerve and can result in prolonged numbness for months after an ultra distance ride. I like to use lobster gloves as final layer in extreme cold. They are bulky and a bit clumsy but lobster gloves still a bit more brake/gear control than mittens. I buy the lobster gloves extra big so I can wear them over sealskin winter gloves.
I use the Black Diamond mitts - with a pair of thin long fingered gloves or thermal liners underneath. Works really well - the mitt section can be flipped back and secured with a press stud.
I use lobster claw black diamond gloves for sub zero (can still operate brakes) and then merino liners with a thiner waterproof winter glove for temps around zero. Never had a problem with cold fingers
